TANJUNG MALIM, 6 August 2026 — Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has officially inaugurated the Galeri Razak Sensei, a dedicated academic space celebrating the legacy of the late Abdul Razak Abdul Hamid and his pivotal role in strengthening educational, historical, and cultural ties between Malaysia and Japan.
The official opening ceremony was officiated by the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, His Excellency Shikata Noriyuki, accompanied by UPSI Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr Md Amin Md Taff.
The gallery serves as a research and academic reference centre housing historic collections detailing the life and contributions of Razak Sensei. The initiative underscores UPSI’s commitment to preserving historical heritage while reinforcing bilateral relations between both nations.
Timed alongside the 81st anniversary of the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Tragedy (1945–2026), the event was held under the theme “Preserving Memory, Inspiring Generations”.
As part of the commemoration, a live teleconference was hosted with Professor Dr Zainal Azam from Hiroshima City University, Japan, who highlighted the gallery’s significance as a vital platform for promoting historical awareness, peace, and humanity.
