IPOH, 1 August 2026 — The Perak edition of MATTA Fair 2026 officially opened today at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC), marking the largest staging of the travel exposition in the state’s history as momentum builds for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Running from 1 to 2 August, this year’s fair features 159 exhibition booths representing 48 organisations and industry operators. The event brings together travel agents, airlines, hoteliers, and regional tourism boards to offer curated travel packages to the public.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee.
The launch was attended by key industry figures, including Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Vice President Mohd Hizzat Mohd Shah — representing MATTA President Nigel Wong — alongside MATTA Perak Chapter Chairman Wendy Shin, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Deputy Director Zuraidah Abu Bakar, Tourism Perak Chief Executive Officer Suhaimi Abu Hassan Shari, and RHB Bank Regional Sales Head Teoh Cheng Gaik.
For the first time in its history, the fair has introduced a dedicated Domestic Tourism Zone, designed specifically to highlight local attractions and encourage Malaysians to explore domestic destinations.
Tourism Perak Management Berhad reiterated its commitment to partnering with MATTA, Tourism Malaysia, and private sector stakeholders to enhance Perak’s visibility and drive both domestic and international visitor arrivals ahead of the 2026 national tourism campaign.
