GERIK, 4 October 2026 — Tourism Perak is pleased to highlight the successful conclusion of Fiesta Loma Gerik 2026, which was honoured by the presence of His Royal Highness the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar ibni Almarhum Raja Muda Musa.
His Royal Highness consented to flag off the Village and Open categories of the signature Raft Endurance Challenge at Kampung Jong, before proceeding to officiate the grand closing ceremony at Dataran Loma in Gerik.
Held across three days from 2 to 4 October, the festival brought the town to life with a diverse range of cultural, sporting, and community programmes. Highlights included the competitive raft racing showcase, the Loma Fun Walk, the children’s “Dapur Loma” culinary contest, traditional costume competitions, and art-and-colouring challenges, complemented by agency exhibition booths.
Beyond fostering strong communal bonds, the festival serves as a valuable showcase for Gerik’s unique riverine traditions, nature attractions, and community-based tourism potential. The initiative reinforces the northern district’s reputation as an appealing eco-tourism destination for visitors seeking authentic local culture and outdoor heritage.
Tourism Perak extends its congratulations to the Gerik District Council (Majlis Daerah Gerik) for orchestrating the event. The festival continues to develop into an iconic annual showcase, strengthening Gerik’s local identity while generating positive economic and tourism momentum for the surrounding communities.
