LUMUT, 22 Jun 2026 — International cruise ship Star Dream Cruise docked at the Marina Island Jetty Complex today, reaffirming Perak’s growing status as a key maritime tourism destination in the region.
The vessel’s arrival is expected to deliver a significant economic boost to local communities, small businesses, and hospitality operators across Lumut and nearby Pangkor Island.
A delegation of local dignitaries and industry leaders assembled to welcome the vessel, led by Toh Seri Bijaya Lt. Col. (Rtd) Dato’ Shaharudin Haji Nazari, Chieftain of the Manjung District (Orang Besar Jajahan Manjung), alongside Zuraida Md Taib, Chief Operating Officer of Tourism Perak.
Disembarking passengers were treated to traditional cultural performances showcasing Malaysia’s rich heritage, alongside appearances by Wira and Manja, the official mascots for the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.
Local tourism officials noted that the return of Star Dream Cruise marks another crucial step in solidifying Marina Island and Pangkor Island as premier maritime gateways, strengthening Perak’s appeal to international travellers ahead of the nationwide 2026 tourism drive.
