IPOH, 8 Dec 2025 — Sultan Azlan Shah Airport welcomed the arrival of Batik Air’s inaugural flight from Singapore today, marking a major boost for Perak’s regional connectivity ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Passengers arriving on the maiden flight were greeted with a vibrant reception organised by Tourism Perak and led by Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee.
To celebrate the occasion, traditional cultural performances were staged by the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), alongside appearances by Kopiro, the state’s tourism mascot. Incoming travellers were presented with a “Perak Welcome Goodie Pack” containing local souvenirs and travel information guides.
State officials noted that the new direct service is expected to revitalise the local tourism sector by offering seamless access for travellers from Singapore and neighbouring regions, bolstering Ipoh’s profile as a premier short-break destination.
