TAIPING, 2 Aug 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Zoo Taiping & Night Safari, Malaysia\u2019s first and oldest zoological park, marked its 64th anniversary with a celebration highlighting both its historical legacy and its ongoing role in wildlife conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was officiated by YB Tuan Teh Kok Lim, Chairman of the Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee and State Assemblyman for Aulong. It was also attended by YBrs. Tuan Nasrul bin Menhat, District Officer of Larut Matang and Selama, and YB Tuan Ong Seng Guan, State Assemblyman for Pokok Assam, underscored the state\u2019s strong support for the zoo\u2019s efforts in conservation, education, and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key highlight was the launch of the Hop-On Hop-Off (HOHO) bus service<\/strong>, which enhances the visitor experience by offering a convenient and engaging way to explore Taiping\u2019s attractions. With Zoo Taiping as one of its main stops, the service connects heritage landmarks, natural landscapes, and wildlife encounters, reinforcing Taiping\u2019s position as a premier eco-tourism destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conjunction with World Tiger Day 2025<\/strong>, the anniversary also featured the Night Fun Run<\/strong>, which aimed to raise awareness and support for the conservation of the critically endangered Malayan tiger. The event served as a meaningful platform for advocacy and public participation in protecting one of Malaysia\u2019s most iconic species. The unveiling of the official 64th anniversary logo and slogan further symbolised the zoo\u2019s legacy and its vision for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, Zoo Taiping & Night Safari has lined up several programmes to deepen public engagement in wildlife conservation. These include World Orangutan Day<\/strong> on 30 August 2025, Zoorama 2025<\/strong> from 13 to 21 September 2025, and Taiping Bird Week from 10 to 12 October 2025. Each initiative is designed to educate as well as entertain, fostering greater awareness of wildlife and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past six decades, Zoo Taiping & Night Safari has grown beyond a zoological park into a hub for conservation, education, and eco-tourism. By blending its rich heritage with innovative programmes, the zoo continues to play a vital role in fostering environmental stewardship while attracting both domestic and international visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 64th anniversary stands as a testament to Zoo Taiping & Night Safari\u2019s enduring significance. Through new attractions, strengthened conservation programmes, and community engagement, the zoo remains a source of national pride and a beacon of sustainability \u2014 contributing not only to Perak\u2019s tourism industry but also to the broader cause of wildlife protection and environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
