By car<\/h3>

A vast road network that is convenient and safe for travellers surrounds Perak. There are rest stops located along the expressway for travellers. In fact, the North-South Expressway leading towards Perak is a boost to domestic tourism. The Expressway stretches from the Thai border in the north to the southern part of the state of Johor Bahru.<\/p>

Depending on where you\u2019re heading, most part of Perak is well connected to the North-South Expressway. You can get into Ipoh via Exit 137: Simpang Pulai, Exit 139: Ipoh Selatan, Exit 140: Ipoh Utara or Exit 141: Jelapang.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

By bus<\/h3>

The main Ipoh bus terminal is located at Medan Gopeng. The station provides services to and from just about any location in the country. The most frequent routes are to and from Kuala Lumpur (Puduraya Station) and Penang. Larger bus companies like Transnational, Plusliner, Konsortium provide the most frequent, reliable and safe services.<\/p>

Bus companies also operate out of other locations including Jalan Bendahara for services to and from Singapore and Jalan Bercham for bus service to and from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

By rail<\/h3>

KERETAPI TANAH MELAYU<\/strong>
The Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) or the Malaysian Railway offers a journey full of scenic views about the countryside as you chug along the railroad. Coaches are air-conditioned and divided into various classes. The ride is comfortable and exciting as the train stops in the little towns along the way.<\/p>

There are ten daily services in each direction between the Ipoh Train Station and KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur. The journey takes between three to four hours one way and costs between RM12 and RM40 depending on the seating class.<\/p>

The first train departs KL Sentral at 5:30 am and the last train at 10:30 pm. Ipoh is on the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Penang-Bangkok route so there are also trains to and from Penang and all the way to Bangkok.<\/p>

By air<\/h3>

Ipoh is served by the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (IATA: IPH). AirAsia, Firefly, TigerAir and MAS operates daily flights to and from major destination across Malaysia and surrounding neighbours.<\/p>

Also, there is Berjaya Air, which offers travel packages to Pangkor Island, Redang Island, Malaysia and Tioman Island.<\/p>
