Perak\u2019s second-largest town is defined by its history and greenery! Also known for being the wettest town in Malaysia, it is also called the \u201cRain City\u201d, where locals place bets on the upcoming weather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is something magical about small-town charm and Taiping has that in spades! Home to the Taiping Lake Garden, which is the first botanical wonderland in Malaysia, this \u201cCity of Peace\u201d never runs out of green sights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set amidst the lushness of the Taiping Lake Garden and adjacent to Larut Hill (Maxwell Hill), the Taiping Zoo and Night Safari are home to 180 animal species. It is worth noting that Taiping Zoo is the oldest zoo in Malaysia and its Night Safari is the first of its kind.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Taiping holds the record for having the firsts of Malaysia such as the first Railway Station, the first Botanical Wonderland, the first Telegraph Museum and the first museum ever to be established in Malaysia, which is the Perak Museum!<\/p>\n<\/div>

Aside from the attractions, Taiping is also famous for its food. Don\u2019t miss savouring a plate of Doli Kuey Teow Goreng (stir-fried flat rice noodles).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
