GOOD PRACTICE GUIDANCE FOR HOTELS

 

  BRIEF DESCRIPTION NOTE
ARRIVAL

1. 

Provision of guidelines for hotel guests’ reference

 

  • Prepare and display the “Do’s” and “Don’ts” Guidelines—for example the 3C and 3W posters—in strategic areas of the hotel to educate hotel guests and employees on COVID-19 transmission prevention measures.

 

 

Display guidelines at Lobby (toilet, shops, etc.)

 

Quantity (depending on floor area): 

To be placed 2 meters apart

Only use a maximum of 75% of area usage from total capacity. 

 

Business operation:

from 10.00 am to 12.00 midnight.

2. Screening of body temperature

 

  • Every visitor must be screened.
  • Ensure the practice of proper equipment use and maintain physical distance while screening the body temperature of each visitor.

 

3.  Physical distancing during registration

 

  • Individual - Ensure 1-meter physical distancing for visitors at all times.
  • Families or small groups:

          - Physical distancing of 1 meter

          - Only one person to check-in

          - The rest are to wait in the waiting area with others

 

4. 

Visitor tracking

 

  • Make it mandatory for all visitors to install MySejahtera application.

 

5.  Use of hand sanitizer

 

  • Enforce the use of hand sanitizer for all staff and visitors

 

6.  Collect and record personal information including body temperature of employees / hotel guests/service providers

 

  • Mandatory to implement on hotel workers, contractor workers, tenants, suppliers and vendors who provide services to hotels before being allowed into the hotel premises, on a daily basis.
  • Mandatory for hotel guests upon check-in.

  • Physical distancing of 1 meter.
  • Only 1 person from a group is allowed to enter.
  • Ensure that face masks and hand sanitizers are sold to visitors.

 

Recommended time of 15 minutes per visitor
10. F&B / Eateries

 

  • Hotel – Servers are required for food served buffet style.
  • Distance of 2 meters between tables (if opened).
  • Table layout – 1-meter distance with appropriate markings.

 

Recommended time of 30 minutes per visitor
11. MICE

 

  • Prohibited activity (until further announcement)

 

 
12. Surau / Prayer Rooms

 

  • Physical distancing of 1 meter.
  • Sanitization and disinfection activities to be carried out at least 3 or more times a day

 

 
13. Pantry

 

  • Physical distancing of 1 meter.
  • Sanitization and disinfection activities to be carried out at least 3 or more times a day.

 

 

 

 

GOOD PRACTICE GUIDANCE FOR HOMESTAY AND KAMPUNG STAY

 

Fixed Instructions

1.     Subject to the local authority regulations in force.

2.     Operations in Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) areas are not allowed.

3.     Operation hours (subject to local authority): 

  • 24 hours for accommodation
  • 6.30 am to 9.00 pm for restaurant premises.

4.  Customer Servicing Hours: 24 hours subject to local authority regulations.

5.  Employee Capacity: 100% depending on actual needs.

  • To spare and use existing rooms in homestay and kampungstay. Affected guests are not allowed to leave the room and it is the duty of the operator to contact the ambulance.

 

 
AFTER
1.  Sanitizing the rooms

 

  • Compulsory for every time a guest checks out.
  • To use permitted cleaning fluids at the expense of the homestay / kampungstay operator.
  • Cleansing and disinfection activities to be carried out at least 3 times a day in public areas

 

  • Training available by Ministry of Health or Fire Rescue Malaysia
